Eating Too Much During the Holidays

Do you have the hunger to tame your appetite?

(HealthDayNews) -- The holiday season always brings out the worry that you'll eat too much.

But maybe all that talk about overeating is just legend. The Journal of Abnormal Psychology says most people can show restraint -- if they want to.

In a study of 65 people followed for two days before and two days after Thanksgiving, researchers found:

  • Men eat more than women.
  • Obese people eat less than non-obese people.
  • Women who were very self-controlled ate less than at other times.
