(HealthDayNews) -- Here are tips on how to avoid overindulging this holiday season, courtesy of Lona Sandon, assistant professor of clinical nutrition at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas:
- Stock your pantry with healthier options such as fresh fruits and vegetables, low-fat yogurt and milk, lean meats, dry cereal, and almonds or walnuts for snacking.
- Take fattening presents you've gotten -- such as gift baskets of cheeses, chocolates or cookies -- to the office to share.
- Set one or two modest dieting goals, such as switching from 2 percent to 1 percent milk.
