(HealthDayNews) -- Sportscasters forever talk about "the home field advantage," but what does it really mean?

The Journal of Science and Sports Medicine reports that psychological examinations of professional rugby players showed the athletes scored higher on vigor and self-confidence tests on their home fields.

Not only that, but they scored better on tests measuring tension, depression, anger, fatigue, confusion, cognitive anxiety and somatic anxiety.
