Job Profiles

Occupations linked to personality traits

(HealthDayNews) -- Australian researchers at Monash University tried to develop an occupational and psychological profile of people who are likely to drink and drive.

The study didn't yield much news on the drinking-and-driving front, but it provided some clues on the personalities associated with specific occupations.

And so, if you're a carpenter, electrician, chef, mechanic, gardener or laborer, your personality traits tend to be: asocial, conforming, reserved, introspective, unpopular, orderly, careful, unimaginative and defensive.

By contrast, if you're a business manager, company director, public servant or sales representative, you're likely to be: acquisitive, adventurous, ambitious, energetic, extroverted, friendly and generous.
