Mindlessness Can Be Bliss

Give your brain a rest

(HealthDayNews) -- Shut down your brain and take a daily vacation from your thoughts.

That's the advice from one of the great minds of any millennium. Almost 2,000 years ago, Plato advised: "Anyone engaged in mathematics or any other strenuous intellectual pursuit should also exercise his body and engage in physical training."

Legend has it that his mentor, Socrates, spent each morning dancing.

A modern rule of thumb: For every hour you spend at the computer or in deep concentration, allocate at least 10 minutes on the jogging path or in some kind of aerobic training.
