Water Cooler Humor Pays Off

It helps to laugh once in a while

(HealthDayNews) -- Do people work better when they're really serious or when they laugh and clown around with co-workers once in a while?

You shouldn't be serious all the time, reports the American Journal of Occupational Therapy, citing controlled studies of corporate relationships.

People who banter and chuckle at work form closer associations and find their work more meaningful, the studies show. And independent raters say the quality of the work produced by the "fun" groups is better than the work done by the serious groups.

You can't just laugh off results like that.
