(HealthDay News) -- Some of the primary emotional symptoms of grief may include sadness, anxiety, depression and anger.

While many people think of grief as emotional, it can also trigger physical symptoms.

The American Academy of Family Physicians mentions these common examples:

  • Diarrhea or nausea.
  • Dizziness or a rapid heartbeat.
  • Feeling of a lump in the throat.
  • Headache.
  • Loss of appetite and weight loss.
  • Feeling tired.
  • Chest pain or tightness, and feeling short of breath.
  • Difficulty sleeping or concentrating.
