Posterior Staphyloma Linked to Worse Outcomes in Myopic Maculopathy

Posterior staphyloma (PS) affects outcomes in myopic maculopathy. In a study of 467 highly myopic eyes, 325 had PS; in a cohort of patients matched by axial length, those with PS had worse best-corrected visual acuity, older age, atrophy and traction components, and severe pathologic myopia.
