Sugar-laden foods are a no-no

(HealthDay News) -- While you're pregnant, it's important to eat nutritious foods and to avoid extra calories.

The United States Department of Agriculture recommends avoiding:

  • Ice cream, candy and other sugary desserts.
  • Sweetened cereals.
  • Fried foods, biscuits and hot dogs.
  • Fruit drinks, teas and other beverages sweetened with sugar.
  • Sugary sodas.
