Exercising with Asthma
Children with chronic condition can benefit
Your child has asthma, but, like all children, he loves to run around outside. And that worries you. You wonder if it's OK.
The National Asthma Education Programme of South Africa says let him play. The group says swimming and short bursts of exercise like sprinting are best. Long-distance running is more likely to cause breathing problems.
The groups says medications should prevent asthma attacks, and exercise helps keep your child's asthma in check.
