Subset of Stage 1 Melanoma Patients ID'd With Very Low Mortality

A subset of patients with stage 1 melanoma and negative nodes had a mortality risk of less than 1%. In a study of melanoma patients from 2010 and 2011, 25% of patients comprised this subset. Factors associated with a low risk for mortality included younger age at diagnosis and Clark level II.
