T Cell Depletion Reduces GVHD Rates After Transplant for Leukemia Patients

Depletion of naïve T cells from stem cell grafts may significantly reduce the incidence of chronic graft-vs.-host disease (GVHD). Among 138 patients with acute leukemia, depletion of naïve T cells resulted in a three-year chronic GVHD incidence of 7% vs. historical rates of 30% to 60%.
