Breakfast Boost

The importance of that first meal

(HealthDayNews) -- Are you grumpy and gloomy? Does every day feel like Monday? Then there's a good chance you started your day with a cup of coffee and no substantial breakfast.

British researchers from the University of Bristol studied 127 people and compared information about their diets with their levels of satisfaction in life. As reported in the International Journal of Food Science and Nutrition, people "... who consumed a cereal breakfast each day were less depressed, less emotionally distressed and had lower levels of perceived stress than those who did not eat breakfast each day."

Not only that, but cereal eaters were less likely to smoke or drink alcohol than people who didn't eat breakfast cereal.
