(HealthDay News) -- Want to eat healthier? Lunch is a great meal to start with.

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics suggests:

  • Topping a salad with an oil-based dressing, rather than one drenched in cream.
  • Including as many veggies as you can.
  • If you're at a restaurant, skip the entree in favor of a smaller, healthier appetizer.
  • If you do order an entree, split it with someone else or save half to eat later.
