Cut the calorie count in your coffee

(HealthDayNews) -- Are you hooked on large latte coffees? Well, their high calorie count may temper your cravings. According to the Mayo Clinic, a large latte can contain 250 to 570 calories.

Instead of foregoing your favorite coffee altogether, you can merely adjust your order:

  • Choose the smallest-sized cup, either eight- or 12-ounces. This will spare you about 110 calories.
  • Order the latte with fat-free milk and save about 80 calories and eight grams of fat.
  • Use sugar substitutes instead of sugar.
  • Skip the whipped cream, flavored syrup, and chocolate or candy toppings.
