Where's the Fruit?

Juice drinks aren't all the same

Haven't had time to down a bunch of grapes today? A bottle of fruit juice may keep your nutritionist happy, but be careful which brand you pick.

Fruit juice drinks vary as much as the people who consume them, the American Dietetic Association (ADA) says.

If your beverage of choice is labeled with terms like fruit drink, fruitade or fruit cocktail, it may well include more water and sugar than juice. Only those that contain 100 percent fruit juice are certain to be good nutritional choices, the association says.

Even better are 100 percent juices with added vitamins and minerals, such as calcium, the ADA says.
