Use Cholesterol Tests With Caution

They can be inaccurate

(HealthDayNews) -- Home cholesterol testing kits can yield inaccurate and incomplete results and shouldn't replace having your cholesterol tested by your doctor, according to the Johns Hopkins University Health After 50 Medical Letter.

In an evaluation of five popular home cholesterol tests, researchers found that two were inaccurate, three gave too little information, and all required a relatively large blood sample.
