Calculated on a per-hour basis, climbing stairs will melt fat the fastest -- 800 calories. Running is next at 692, with cycling burning just over 500, according to researchers at Montana State University-Northern.

Of course, if all that exercise sounds like too much, you can always sleep on it. Even dozing burns 55 calories an hour.
