Postpartum Depression

Know its symptoms

(HealthDayNews) -- If you've recently had a baby and can't shake off feelings of gloom and doom, you may be experiencing postpartum depression.

According to the University of Michigan Health System, about 15 percent of women suffer from postpartum depression after giving birth. Symptoms include appetite changes, sleep disturbances, heightened anxiety and feelings of helplessness and hopelessness.

While postpartum depression is more serious than ordinary baby blues, it can be fairly easy to treat. If you think you have symptoms, talk to your doctor.
